Call for abstracts

Guidelines for preparation and submission of abstracts
1. Abstracts may be submitted via the submission website only. Abstracts submitted via e-mail will not be accepted.
2. All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
3. Please structure your abstract using the following headings:
– Objectives
– Methods
– Results
– Conclusions

You can upload your abstract as a word document. Kindly use this template to upload your abstract.

4. The abstract text may not be longer than 500 words. Tables, charts and other graphics are permitted and must be in JPG or GIF format and of high resolution (max. 2 graphics per abstract).
5. Words of non-English origin, like bona fide, prima facie, in vitro, in situ, should be placed in italic, together with scientific names of any rank (e.g. Aspergillus fumigatus, A. flavus, Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis).

6. After having submitted your abstract, you will immediately receive a confirmation by e-mail. If you wish to submit other abstracts later, you may use your personal access codes. Should you wish to make corrections to an abstract already submitted, please send an e-mail to timm@congresscare.com. Corrections to abstracts can only be made up to the deadline of 27 April 2025. If you do not receive a confirmation by e-mail please contact the congress secretariat at timm@congresscare.com.
7. Abstracts will be reviewed by at least 2 members of the Scientific Committee.
8. May 2025 Abstracts letters of acceptance will be mailed
9. Abstract authors must register for the congress by 25 July 2025 or advise us of withdrawal by this date. Registration ensures publication and presentation.
10. If an abstract is accepted, the presenting author must attend the congress and present it in person.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a great honor and pleasure for us to cordially invite you to participate in the 12th Congress on Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM-12), scheduled to take place from September 19th to 22nd, 2025, at the Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall, Bilbao, Euskadi (Basque Country), Spain.

TIMM-12 is organised by the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) working together with the Spanish Association of Mycology (Asociación Española de Micología -AEM) to off er you an attractive scientific and social programme. Over the last decades, TIMM has established itself as an essential first-class global forum where more than 1000 scientists and clinicians present their latest advances and research findings in the fi eld of medical mycology, combined with the provision of targeted educational workshops.

TIMM-12 will cover new fascinating insights into the biology of fungi, intriguing host-fungal interactions, updated diagnostic and therapeutic management approaches, changing dynamics in clinical epidemiology, as well as the emergence of antifungal resistance and newly discovered fungal pathogens. The scientific topics are designed to be from bench to bed for basic scientists in medical mycology, medical mycologists, microbiologists, and a wide range of clinicians specialised in adult or paediatric infectious diseases, haematology, oncology, transplantation medicine and primary immunodeficiencies, critical care, dermatology, as well as immunology, and all others with an interest in medical mycology. TIMM-12 will be an excellent opportunity for all participants to meet face-to-face with old friends and colleagues, make new friends and establish new collaborations in medical mycology.
