The Plant Journal (TPJ) and Huazhong Agricultural University are delighted to co-host the “Programmable Plants: the next generation of crop improvement” symposium in Wuhan in May 2026.
The aim of the symposium is to highlight AI-informed plant science, as well as systems and synthetic biology approaches for understanding and exploiting plant biology. With a significant proportion of TPJ’s published research originating from China’s scientific community, TPJ wanted to bring together innovative scientists behind this research to share discoveries and learning. Speakers also include members of the TPJ Editorial Board with the symposium providing an opportunity to meet TPJ editors and learn more the journal and scientific publishing.
TPJ (tinyurl.com/WileyTPJ) is co-owned by Wiley and the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB, sebiology.org/) and publishes high-quality plant science research, technical advances and reviews with a reputation for fair, transparent and timely editorial decisions and positive author experience. As a part-society owned journal, TPJ supports the scientific community through the SEB, annual paper prizes and a Fellowship scheme for early career group leaders. We will be presenting the 2025 Fellowship Awards at the symposium.
